Six small things have to go right for a tutoring session to actually be useful. We’ve thought about each one.
The right teacher,
not just a teacher.
Filter by subject, language, schedule, and budget. Sort by rating, by price, by experience. Read reviews from real students. Watch a short intro if the tutor recorded one.
Most students find someone they want to try in under five minutes. The first session is the test — if it doesn’t click, try someone else. There are 1,400+ teachers on clss.
A class that fits your week.
See the tutor’s live calendar in your timezone — not theirs. Pick a slot, leave a quick note about what you want to work on, and pay. We confirm with the tutor and email you both.
You can reschedule up to 24 hours before. After that, the tutor’s already blocked the time, so we honor the booking out of fairness to them.
Your money is held until the class happens.
We don’t hand the tutor your payment until the session is done. If the tutor cancels or doesn’t show up, you’re refunded automatically.
Stripe Connect handles the actual money. We never touch your card details. If you have a problem with a class, you have 24 hours to flag it — most disputes resolve in two days.
The classroom you wish your school had.
Video, two-way audio, screen share, a real shared whiteboard. Chat for quick questions. Hand-raise for the moments you don’t want to interrupt.
No app to install. The classroom runs in your browser on any device. Bandwidth-aware, so it stays watchable on a tethered phone connection.
Two-way reviews. Both sides honest.
You rate the tutor. The tutor rates the student. Reviews appear publicly only after both sides have submitted, so neither one is gaming the other.
Tutors who consistently get great reviews bubble up in search. Students who consistently show up and do the work get priority booking with featured tutors.
